10 things you should pack in your luggage when going to Mexico

Sure, here are ten things you should consider packing when traveling to Mexico:
  1. Passport and travel documents: Ensure you have a valid passport and all other necessary travel documents required to enter Mexico. It is always best to have copies of your documents in case of loss or theft.
  2. Sunscreen and sunglasses: Mexico has a warm climate, and the sun can be intense, so it is important to pack sunscreen with an SPF of at least 30 and sunglasses to protect your eyes.
  3. Light clothing: Pack light and breathable clothing suitable for warm weather. Cotton or linen fabrics are ideal. Also, remember to pack a light jacket or sweater, as the evenings can be cooler.
  4. Insect repellent: Mosquitoes and other biting insects can be common in certain areas of Mexico, so it is best to bring a good quality insect repellent to avoid getting bitten.
  5. Comfortable shoes: Pack comfortable shoes for walking and exploring, as there is a lot to see and do in Mexico. Sandals or flip flops are also great for the beach.
  6. Camera: Mexico has some stunning scenery and attractions, so don't forget your camera to capture all those amazing moments.
  7. Power adapter: If you're traveling from a different country, you may need a power adapter to charge your electronic devices as Mexico uses different electrical outlets.
  8. Medications: If you're taking any prescription medications, make sure you pack enough for your entire trip. It's also a good idea to bring over-the-counter medications such as painkillers and antihistamines, just in case.  Please remember to pack your medications in your carry on, so it arrives with you
  9. Cash and credit cards: Ensure you have enough cash and credit cards to cover your expenses, as some places may not accept cards or charge additional fees for their use.
  10. Spanish phrasebook or translation app: While English is widely spoken in tourist areas, it's always helpful to have a basic Spanish phrasebook/app to help communicate with locals and navigate around the country.
If you have any questions you should reach out to a travel agent to get the best up to date information.

The all travel season is just around the corner.  We know that school is starting right away and that everyone gets busy.  We here at beachbums travel understand that when the time is right and you have a week break from school it is so nice to head to warmer climates to recharge those batteries.  There are a few things to remember so that you can take advantage of some of the packages that come up.
1. Are your travel documents up to date?  Is your passport current?  Meaning you typically can not travel if your passport is going to expire in the next six months.
2. Do you have some form of insurance?  Travel insurance is a handy thing to have if you leave Alberta for any reason, even going to other parts of Canada.
3. Medical immunization.  Are all your shots up to date.  Some of the awesome destinations we all love to go to have some interesting diseases carried by bugs.  That is the gift that keeps on giving.  Get informed as to what you need for shots and follow a program.
